Leica Alma

Fantastic yet controversial advert based on the life of Robert Capa (though this is only hinted at through the biographical references). Really creative perspective on how to market a product but in my opinion this is where the controversy lies. In this advert, Capa’s camera is the protagonist and it/she guides us on a journey of the time ‘they’ spent together (though in reality he actually shot on a Contax II and Nikon S after the Spanish Civil War but shut up this is a cool film!)

Could be argued that romanticising war and the death of one of the best photographers to have lived in order to sell a product is quite shameful, but I think if it’s just watched as a film this is great.
